Tail lamp harnesses connect the dash harness to the tail lamps. These harnesses are also year, make, model and vehicle specific, although certain model harnesses are compatible for a span of years. Changing to a different style tail lamp, like installing 91-92 Trans Am tail lamps into a 86 Trans Am, will require changing tail lamp harnesses. Tail lamp harnesses do not include bulbs, and new bulbs should be installed prior to installation.
